City of Seneca Brush Pickup Minimally Affected by County Grinder Issues

The City of Seneca is experiencing only minimal delays in brush pickup services despite temporary disruptions caused by equipment problems at the Oconee County Solid Waste & Recycling facility. The county has temporarily suspended acceptance of brush materials from cities, county, and state road departments due to mechanical issues with its brush grinder, though service is expected to resume once repairs are completed.

City officials report a minor backlog, but the Seneca Public Works Department continues collecting brush throughout the city, with crews working to eliminate the backlog and restore normal pickup schedules. During this period, the city will temporarily stockpile brush debris at the unused tennis courts at the old Seneca Middle School until the county’s grinder is operational again.

Residents with questions are encouraged to contact the City of Seneca Public Works Department at (864) 885-2750.
