City of Walhalla Issues 24-Hour Boil Water Advisory – West Main Street Area
The City of Walhalla Water Department has issued a 24-hour boil water advisory for all customers on West Main Street from Pine Street south to the vicinity of Stoudemire Street, along with surrounding streets including S. Pine, S. Poplar, S. Cedar, S. Laurel, Palmetto Drive, and nearby residences – following Stillwell Construction’s tie-in of new water lines to the existing main as part of the ongoing system improvement project. Affected residents are advised to vigorously boil water for at least three full minutes before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, food preparation, or washing dishes (boiling is not required for bathing or laundry), while water samples are collected and tested; the advisory will remain in effect approximately 24 hours or until lab results confirm the water is safe, at which time a follow-up notice will be issued.
