Class Reunion and Cruzin this Saturday in Seneca

At this week’s Seneca City Council meeting, Councilman Al Gaines shared with the Council that over 300 people are due in Seneca for a reunion of students from Blue Ridge High School and the Oconee County Training Center.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander is thrilled to have so many people visiting the city this weekend for this special class reunion.  “It is always very special when you get to see people that you haven’t seen in a long time.  Every year some people get to come and some don’t get to come, but Al said there was a big turnout coming this year.  I know that it is very special; it talks about the history and the ties here, where people are now and what they are doing.  It is a time where they can enjoy some fellowship with one another.  I know Al has been real busy, they are real excited and we are happy for them being able to come and fellowship with one another.” Another event expected to draw a large crowd to the City of Seneca is Cruzin on Main, which is held on the first Saturday of each month in downtown.  Mayor Alexander said he is very proud of how this event has grown to attract more and more people to the city each month.  “That event started out small but anything that Bigin is involved in it is going to end up being a big hit.  This weekend is supposed to be the big one; all year they have promoted that there was going to be a giveaway to Gatlinburg, TN.  There will be a drawing and someone will win the trip.  This weekend is supposed to be pretty on Saturday, so we are looking forward to the weather being good and I imagine you will see as many cars as you have ever seen this weekend.  There are some pretty cars.” Here is Donnie White better known as Bigin with more on this Saturday’s Cruzin on Main in downtown Seneca.  “This Saturday’s theme is rat rod, if you want to see some unusual rides come on out this Saturday to downtown Seneca and don’t forget the first 100 vehicles registered get a free t-shirt and it is also vacation giveaway time.  Come join me and all the other cruisers in downtown Seneca for Cruzin on Main.” Cruzin on Main is free to attend and it starts at 3pm this Saturday.
