Clemson Council Votes to Raise Administrator’s Salary

The Clemson City Council convened on June 9, 2025, opening with a public hearing on the FY 2026 budget. During the regular session, Mayor Halfacre recognized Miss Clemson University 2025, Emma Martin, and Miss SC Teen USA 2024, Jules Grass, and also honored the Daniel High School Track and Field State Champions.

The council received a tourism update on the impact of hosting the Savannah Bananas and discussed the appointment of a Poet Laureate. Additionally, they addressed FY 2026 CAT Bus agreements, a state-issued cable franchise authority application, and language for promoting business activities.

An amendment to the Ethics and Code of Conduct Statement for Elected and Appointed Officials was also discussed. In policy actions, the council considered the second reading of a text amendment regarding bonding commercial space in mixed-use developments and the first reading of an ordinance to adopt the FY 2026 operating budget.
