Clemson named Tree Campus USA

For the third year in a row, Clemson University has been named a Tree Campus USA by the Arbor Day Foundation and Toyota. Initiated in 2008, Tree Campus USA is a program that awards colleges and universities for campus forest management and involving students and faculty in conservation efforts. Clemson was awarded this honor for meeting the five standards set by the Arbor Day Foundation: maintaining a tree advisory committee, having a campus tree care plan, dedicating annual expenditures to trees, hosting an Arbor Day observance and offering student service-learning projects. The Arbor Day Foundation is a nonprofit conservation and education organization of one million members, with the mission to inspire people to plant, nurture and celebrate trees.
