Tom Cloer, III Central Assistant Town Administrator, stated, “The Town of Central Parks and Recreation Department is excited to once again partner with the Clemson Parks and Recreation Department to host the 2013 Dixie Youth State Tournament at Nettles Park. We welcome the players, the coaches, and their families to our communities and will work hard to provide our visitors with a positive and memorable experience that will be a part of defining these young players as they display their skills in this exciting venue. We hope their experience will leave them wanting to return to our area soon and enjoy the abundant opportunities that exist here at the doorsteps of the Blue Ridge Mountains.” Steve Figueroa, Clemson Recreation and Tournament Director stated, “Dixie Youth is a national program that promotes the development of strong character, a right attitude, a sense of responsibility, and citizenship in youngsters, using the game of baseball as a vehicle. “We are looking forward to hosting the event again this year and hope to exceed expectations.” Those interested in volunteering or providing sponsorship for the tournament can contact Steve Figueroa, 2013 Tournament Director and Clemson Parks and Recreation Director at 864-624-1122 or Tom Cloer, III Central Assistant Town Administrator at 864-639-6381 ext. 108.
