Clemson Student killed in crash on I-85 in NC

Clemson University is mourning the loss of a student killed in a crash along I-85 on Saturday, Dec. 16. The Clemson University Media Relations Department reports that 21-year-old Alec DeJong, a junior marketing major from Earlysville, Virginia, died in the crash. He was riding in a Volvo being driven by his twin brother, Brandon, on I-85 in North Carolina when the Volvo rear ended a truck that swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle. Clemson University confirmed that Brandon, also a Clemson student, survived the crash. The brothers were traveling home to Virginia for the holidays when the crash occurred.
