Clemson to celebrate Legacy Day

Clemson University will celebrate its rich history of giving and honor members of the Clemson family who exemplify its dedication to service on Legacy Day from 2-4pm Friday, Nov. 10, at Fort Hill on the Clemson campus. The Clemson University Media Relations Department reports that Thomas Green Clemson, who inherited Fort Hill from his wife, Anna Calhoun Clemson, granted his land and fortune to the state of South Carolina in his last will and testament. The 814 acres and $80,000 in assets were used to create the university. Since then, the Clemsons’ spirit of philanthropy has been interwoven into university values and traditions.
