Clemson University Board of Trustees Wraps Up Quarterly Meetings

The Clemson University Board of Trustees wrapped up their quarterly meeting last Friday. The meeting was held at the Madren Conference Center on campus. Among the highlights was the board participating in a ground breaking ceremony of a 12,700 square foot child care facility that will be located near the Snow Family Outdoor Fitness and Wellness Center on Highway 93 and Seneca Creek Road. 

During the full board meeting, President Jim Clements highlighted recent successes, including Clemson’s recent National Championship win in football over Alabama and Clemson’s recognition as a Beckman Scholar institution, which designates Clemson as one of 13 programs nationally receiving funding to provide undergraduates with an unique 15 month mentored laboratory research experience. 

The board also approved a new undergraduate Digital History emphasis area in the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities. The board also entered into a collaboration agreement with the Medical University of South Carolina creating a framework to manage current and future projects between the two universities.
