Clemson University receives First Academic Cornerstone Gift

Clemson announces the first Academic Cornerstone Gift made to the university, tells Robin Denny, Director of the Clemson University Media Relations Department. “Tom Chapman and his wife, Karen, are generous donors to the university and they have given a $4 million gift that will establish an endowment for the Thomas F. Chapman Leadership Scholars Program and create the Thomas F. Chapman ’65 Distinguished Professorship in Leadership. The Chapmans are very interested in helping enable and enhance the leadership skills of Clemson students. Tom is an alumnus of Clemson. With this gift they are the first Cornerstone Partners for Academics. We’ve had a number of Cornerstone Partners in Athletics and they are the first Cornerstone Partners for Academics.” Cumulatively, the Chapmans have given $6.3 million to Clemson to further the university’s mission and vision.
