Coach Tom Jordan receives National Attention

It is a big week for Seneca Track Coach Tom Jordan. Not only is he scheduled to be inducted into the Seneca High School Athletic Hall of Fame this Friday, Sept. 21, 2018 at Coach Tom Bass Field, but he has also garnered some national attention, reports www.senecabobcats.com. Coach Jordan was mentioned online by Heisman Trophy winner and NFL great Herschel Walker, whom Jordan coached in high school at Johnson County High School in Jefferson, Georgia. In a Tweet from the non-profit organization Extra Yards for Teachers series, “It Takes Just One”, where professional athletes discuss the one teacher who had the greatest impact on their lives. Mr. Walker discusses the influence that Coach Jordan had on his life both athletically and academically. The foundation, Extra Yard for Teachers, was established with the development of the NCAA College Football Playoff Series. Extra Yards for Teachers is dedicated to elevating the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers in four focus areas: resources, recognition, recruitment and professional development.
