Community helps Library plan for the Future

The Oconee County Public Library (OCPL) is in the process of creating a new strategic plan for the next two or three years. In order to make sure that the library is responsive and remains a center of the community, the OCPL hosted a community planning meeting on Thursday, tells OCPL Director Blair Hinson. “We had a public meeting last night at our Walhalla branch that really was geared at first towards setting up some information and community input for our strategic plan but I think before the meeting was over it was a good conversation with different constituencies from the community. It is something that the library would like to do again. We will be having another meeting to kind of follow up on this on Thursday, April 26, at 6pm at the Walhalla Library.” Whether you’re a regular library user, or haven’t been to the library in a while, they want to hear from you on where the library should be focusing its time and resources. The meeting is open to the public.
