Congressman Duncan, Senator Graham File and Reintroduce Abortion Legislation

(Seneca, SC)———– Third District U.S. Congressman Jeff Duncan filed legislation this week in Congress, entitled the Ultrasound Informed Consent Act. According to a press release, the Act, if passed, would require that women seeking an abortion receive an ultrasound and have an opportunity to review the ultrasound before giving informed consent to receive an abortion.

Also, this week, U.S. Senator and Seneca native Lindsey Graham, along with several other Senators, reintroduced the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. According to a press release, the act, if passed, would make it illegal for any person to perform, or attempt to perform, an abortion without first making a determination of the probable post-fertilization age of the unborn child. If the post fertilization age of the unborn child is determined to be 20 weeks or greater, an abortion shall not be performed unless certain criteria is met.
