Continue learning over the Summer

Now that school is out for the summer, students are still encouraged to continue learning. Oconee County Schools Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Lisa Simmons says it is very important for students to at least read every day. “It is really important. We always call it the summer slide and we want to prevent that as much as possible. The biggest thing that students can do during the summer is to read. The Oconee County Public Library is a great place to find something to read and fun educational things to do during the summer. It is very important because when the kids come back to school in the fall, we want them ready to go.” For more summer academic activities, visit www.oconee.k12.sc.us.
