Corinth-Shiloh Fire Chief Search Committee Discussion

During their meeting on Thursday, the commissioners of the newly formed Corinth-Shiloh tax district discussed the process of hiring a full-time fire chief and agreed that two of the five commissioners would serve on the search committee though they took no formal action on the committee’s composition. A point of contention arose regarding the potential involvement of Kevin Christenbury the current chief of the mostly volunteer fire station with Commissioner Misty Morris expressing concerns about a possible conflict of interest due to a perception among some residents that the hired chief might only serve temporarily before Christenbury’s potential retirement from his Clemson University fire department position allowing him to then assume the full-time paid chief role at Corinth-Shiloh Commissioner Marcengill echoed these concerns…

Morris also noted that Christenbury has stated his intention to retire to spend more time with family and only plans to remain with the Corinth-Shiloh station during the transition to a primarily paid 24/7 service.
