Corinth-Shiloh Fire District Appoints First Full-Time Paid Chief
Despite the challenge some face in spelling and pronouncing his name, the Corinth-Shiloh Fire District Board of Commissioners has selected Dave Scheurrer as the department’s first full-time, paid fire chief. The commissioners looked across the state line into Georgia to find their ideal candidate. In an informal ceremony last night at the fire station, leadership transitioned from longtime volunteer Chief Kevin Christenbury to Chief Scheurrer. Christenbury expressed his hope that the new chief will guide the department for many years to come…
Now in its first year as a special tax district, Corinth-Shiloh Fire and Rescue is generating hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue through a dedicated fire tax included on county property tax bills for district residents. Moving forward, the station will be staffed by a combination of paid full-time and volunteer personnel.
