Corps monitoring Rainfall Amounts

Due to water being released upstream from small reservoirs, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers does not anticipate significant impact on Lake Hartwell downstream; however, they are monitoring the situation as they know there will be some impact. Right now, according to the Corps, there is ample storage capacity in the reservoir to handle the water released from the opening of the Georgia Power spillways. The Corps continues to follow its water manual and is releasing additional water through the dam and turbines, which is the way they manage water normally.
