CREATING A SHAVER COMPLEX IN WESTMINSTER

Of late, Westminster Mayor Brian Ramey has been eye-balling Seneca’s Shaver Recreation Complex…and he likes what he sees. Ramey told the Westminster City Council last night he is especially impressed by the layout of athletic fields, and how those fields provide a setting for tournaments which bring visitors and money to Seneca. He told the city council that there are 64 acres in the vicinity of Westminster’s Hall Street recreation complex available for sale, and he recommends the city consider buying it, with the intent of trying to replicate a Shaver complex in his city. Ramey says he knows of no other property in his city suitable for a large recreation complex.
