CU celebrates Week of Gratitude

Clemson University students are learning about the importance of private donations during the Week of Gratitude this week. Each day highlights a different facility on campus that exists or was improved due to private giving. The Student Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Council are giving out promotional items and information about the facilities and the donors who made them possible. To conclude the week, the Student Alumni Council will present a $75,000 check. Of that, $57,968 of will go toward the Student Alumni Council Scholarship Endowment Fund, reflecting the proceeds from the Welcome Back Festival, while the remaining $17,031 will go to support the Student Memorial Chapel, a proposed on-campus building where students of all faiths can come to pray, meditate and remember students who died before their expected graduation dates. The Student Alumni Council gift is part of The Will to Lead, $1 billion capital campaign to support Clemson students and faculty with scholarships, professorships, facilities, technology and enhanced opportunities for learning and research.
