Davis excited about Elliott joining OC Council

With John Elliott’s recent election to the Oconee County Council, Councilman Julian Davis is excited about the possibilities for the Golden Corner of South Carolina. “I’m excited for Mr. Elliot to finally get some knowledge on where he is headed to, so that is an exciting outcome and I’m really excited about the voter turnout because that means that people are paying attention to what is going on. That is the main thing that I know him, Councilman Paul Cain and myself really want people involved with what we are doing in this county to get it moving in the right direction as we move toward hiring an administrator and getting somebody in here to really put a spark in this county.”
Elliott received 79.40% of votes to Bill Bruehl’s 19.98% with 55% of residents casting ballots in the 2018 Midterm Election on Nov. 6. Councilman Davis has high hopes for the future of the Oconee County Council. “We just need to research, do our job and work together. We are not always going to agree. You are not going to see five people ever agree on every single thing, but I think you are going to see a council that is willing to put our personal differences aside and move toward making this the best Oconee County we can.” Elliott will serve District One on the Oconee County Council for the next four years. He will be sworn into office at the council’s January meeting to begin his term.
