Demonstration in Seneca Remained Peaceful Monday

As many as between 50 and 75 people gathered in front of City Hall in Seneca Monday afternoon with signs facing the passing traffic on N. 1st Streets to protest the death of George Floyd. Unlike other cities across the country, the demonstration in Seneca remained peaceful, with Deputies from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office even bringing cold bottled water and popsicles, then thanking the demonstrators for their showing. On Friday, Sheriff Mike Crenshaw issued a statement condemning what happened to Floyd and vowed that if any of his officers mistreat suspects, they will be prosecuted.
