DHEC COVID-19 Numbers Update

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) announced 543 new confirmed cases and 19 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, 7 additional confirmed deaths and no new probable deaths. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 111,202, probable cases to 1,349, confirmed deaths to 2,387, and 124 probable deaths. There were 14 new cases confirmed in Oconee County, as well as 14 each in Anderson and Pickens Counties. Anderson County confirmed three elderly and one middle aged persons’ deaths related to COVID-19. Those deaths occurred between August 18 and 23.
