Dial named a Furman Fellow

The marketing and communications manager for the Oconee Economic Alliance (OEA), Daja Dial, has been named a Furman Fellow. Her boss, OEA Executive Director Richard Blackwell, is very proud of her for achieving this distinction. “It is quit an honor. We’re very happy for her. She has definitely earned it. She is an emerging leader, not just here in Oconee County but across the Upstate and the state of South Carolina. So, its great that Furman has recognized her talents and has named her a Fellow and she is part of the Diversity Leadership Class for this year. She is not only going to better herself, but learn a lot that can better Oconee County.” Dial is one of 42 Upstate leaders who will take part this spring in the Riley Institute at the Furman University Diversity Leaders Initiative. Over the course of five months, Dial and the other participants will work in small, cross-sector groups to respond to real issues and opportunities in their communities through service projects.
