Downtown Corridor Study Public Input Session planned for Clemson

The City of Clemson is working with the design firm Alta to develop a long-range plan for the College Avenue corridor from Highway 93 to Highway 123. The study began in August of 2017 and has already included two public input sessions and a design charrette. The study is looking into issues such as the potential removal of on-street parking, adding a parking deck, sidewalk widths, bicycle traffic, public transit, private vehicular traffic, cut-through traffic, streetscape planting and design, lighting and signage, pedestrian safety, creation of pedestrian plazas, and additional public green and park space. The public is invited to be a part of this process. The next Public Input Session is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 5-8pm at the CAT Office. This will be an informal drop-in where citizens can view the final drafts of ideas developed during the earlier Public Input Session on Sept. 19, and Design Charrette on Sept. 28, and the Public Input Session on Oct. 23. The public will be invited to share their ideas and provide feedback for improving College Avenue. Alta will present their ideas at 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm.
