Duke Energy And County Officials To Test Sirens Around The Oconee Nuclear Station This Morning

(Seneca, SC)—–Duke Energy and County Officials will be testing the sirens around the Oconee Nuclear Station today.

The three minute test, which is conducted on a quarterly basis, is scheduled to begin around 11:50am.  No public action is required.

There are 65 sirens within a 10 mile radius of the Oconee Nuclear Station and the test is performed in cooperation with Emergency Management Officials in both Oconee and Pickens Counties, who are responsible for sounding the sirens.
