Eclipse Photos on display at World of Energy

The Spartanburg Photo Guild will have an eclipse photo exhibit on display at Duke Energy’s World of Energy education center at Oconee Nuclear Station from Oct. 9, through Oct. 30. This free exhibit features eclipse images caught on camera by Guild members at the World of Energy during the Great American Eclipse on Aug. 21, 2017. Images range from the initial moon shadowing of the sun to the “diamond ring” effect to the awe-inspiring sun’s corona. “We were very pleased to work with the Spartanburg Photo Guild to accommodate their photography,” World of Energy Manager Chris Rimel said. “After they had scouted out the Upstate and found the World of Energy was the perfect spot in the center of totality, the only question was good weather. And we had it; the photographs are amazing.” Many of the Spartanburg Photo Guild images on display are for sale; information cards will be available with each display. The exhibit is open to the public during the World of Energy’s normal business hours, 9am until 5pm.
