EF1 Tornado Confirmed in Elbert County, Georgia

The National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed an EF1 tornado touched down Monday evening in Bobby Brown State Park near Mount Carmel in Elbert County, Georgia. The tornado caused significant damage, snapping and uprooting dozens of trees as it approached a cove along the Savannah River and damaging pavilions at the Bobby Brown Recreational Center. Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
