“Elbow Grease” waiting on Rating before Premiere

The movie that was filmed in Seneca in 2013, “Elbow Grease”, is waiting on its rating before it is premiered here in Seneca, says Shelby Henderson, casting director and associate producer. “This movie was shot here in Seneca and Oconee County. It featured Burt Reynolds, who does more than a cameo appearance, he’s got actually a big part in the movie, so he was here in Seneca and stayed in Seneca while they were filming. We’re working with Premiere Cinema to get this shown here in Seneca. We’re shooting for before the end of October, but it is a process. We’re waiting on our Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) rating, which is the G, PG, or whatever. Its a family-friendly movie, but they have to rate it and we didn’t think we were going to have it rated but we’re like that close, so Jason Shirley, the producer and director, told me lets hold off until we get that rating so that when we go, we know exactly what we’re offering.” Several locals appeared as extras in the film, which was shot in downtown Seneca and rural parts of Oconee County.
