Visit Event at TCTC’s Oconee Campus

It’s not too early to register for spring semester classes at Tri-County Technical College’s (TCTC) new Oconee Campus. The Visit Event, set for Thursday, Nov. 15, from 4-7pm, is an opportunity for residents to take a look at enrollment options and academic programs offered for spring semester. The 37,000-square-foot campus is located at the Oconee Industry and Technology Park, 552 Education Way in Westminster. Spring semester begins Jan. 7. Spring semester offerings include the first two semesters of Industrial Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, Technical Operator 1 and 2 (Certificate), CNC Programming and Operations (Degree), Manufacturing Management and Leadership (Degree), Business Administration (first year – core curriculum) and University Studies (Certificate). Corporate and Community Education offerings include South Carolina Manufacturing Certification, CNC Machine Operator Training, Mechatronics and other career certificates such as ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing and OSHA. Admissions representatives will be on hand to talk with individuals and to help them apply to TCTC.
Staff will give tours and faculty from the Engineering and Industrial Technology Division will give equipment demonstrations. The first step to enrollment is to bring high school and college transcripts to the event. TCTC will waive the $30 application fee for those who apply that day. Folks also should attend the FAFSA Friday seminar set for Nov. 16, from 10am to 1pmat the Pendleton Campus, where they can apply for financial aid for spring semester. Individuals will have a month before the admissions deadline, which is Dec. 19, to complete the requirements for admission. For those who cannot attend the event, Tim Jared, Oconee Campus coordinator, and Cyndi Watts, full-time generalist, are at the campus and are available to speak one on one with individuals.
