Clemson City Council Meeting and Public Hearing

The agenda has been released for the Clemson City Council’s meeting on Monday, Aug. 6. A public hearing on zoning text amendments is also planned and takes place at 5:30pm. The the regular council meeting begins at 6:30pm. According to the agenda, the council will discuss a fundraising program that will help the homeless and promote public art, receive the annual financial summary report for properties leased to non-profit organizations by the City of Clemson, as well as staff and council reports. In addition, the council will receive the USDA Letter of Conditions for a $500,000 Rural Infrastructure Grant and vote to formally accept the grant award, consider the closing of College Avenue between Highway 93 and Keith Street on Friday nights prior to home football games, consider first reading of an ordinance calling for a referendum at the next General Election to determine whether the SC Department of Revenue may issue temporary permits for Sunday sale of alcohol beverages for on-premises and off-premises consumption in the City of Clemson, consider first reading of an ordinance to adjust Commercial Sanitation Rates, consider an agreement between the City of Clemson and Clemson University for transit services to be provided in fiscal year 2018-2019 and consider a resident’s request for the city to accept a portion of land. The meeting is open to the public and takes place in Council Chambers of Clemson City Hall at 1250 Tiger Boulevard.
