Drop-in Reception for OC VA Assistant

Longtime Oconee County Veterans Affairs Assistant Janice Matheson-Holbrooks is retiring on May 31. Oconee County Veterans Affairs Director Jerry Dyar said, “The veterans, not to mention, myself, are going to miss what Janice has meant to the Oconee County VA Office over the last 25 years. Her efforts will be hard to replace. The citizens of Oconee County have gotten their money’s worth with Janice.” To celebrate her time in the local VA office, and to wish her well in much deserved retirement, Oconee County, the Oconee County Veterans Affairs Office, and the Walhalla American Legion Post Ladies Auxiliary are hosting a drop-in reception on June 1, from 2-5pm at the Walhalla Performing Arts Center (formerly the Civic Auditorium). The citizens of Oconee County, and most importantly, the veterans are encouraged to attend. Janice and her husband, Steve Holbrooks will continue to reside in Westminster.
