Harry Potter Fandom Night at the Westminster Library

The Westminster Library has started a new monthly series called Random Fandom. Each month they will have a family fun night centered on a particular fandom, which are a group of people who share comradery in a common interest. These fans are typically even interested in the minor details of the object of their fandom and will spend significant amounts of time involved in their interest. The next Random Fandom night will celebrate the fandom of Harry Potter. “The Harry Potter fandom is a great one for the library to celebrate,” says circulation assistant Tiffany Blackwell. “These books (and movies) allow the reader to use their imagination to take them into the wizarding world.” Witches, wizards, and muggles are welcome to join in all the fun on Monday, Aug. 27, at 6pm. Plans for the night include playing Harry Potter bingo with prizes, delicious treats like Butterbeer, door prizes, cosplay, and making Cornish pixie jars. This program is for all ages and free.
