SHS to “Team Up” to sideline Cancer

Seneca High School (SHS) will host a spirit week to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® through the Team Up for St. Jude Spirited by Varsity Game Day program. The SHS Student Government Association and cheerleaders are enlisting students and fans to “Team Up” to tackle childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases by wearing Bobcat gold to cheer on their Seneca Bobcats for Hall of Fame Night versus BHP on Friday, Sept. 21, at 7:30pm. To encourage students and fans to support St. Jude, the students at SHS will host special events leading up to kickoff and throughout the game. During the school week, students will participate in class coin wars and host a hat day Friday to raise funds for St. Jude. Teachers also have an opportunity to wear jeans all week by donating to support the event. Donations will also be accepted at the SHS volleyball games versus Crescent on Wednesday, Sept. 19. On Friday, Sept. 21, as the Bobcats take on the Bears, cheerleaders, SGA members, and parents will provide Bobcat supporters and visitors an opportunity to support SHS’s Team Up for St. Jude Event by making donations with all proceeds benefiting St. Jude. “We are excited about the opportunity to host this event as a school. We feel like the kids at St. Jude deserve a chance to live their life to the fullest and make it to high school so they can be part of a wonderful community like ours.” said Riley Hard and Jenna Wilson, SHS Student Body Officers.
