Expansion Of Training Center At South Carolina Vocational Rehab To Continue Work Of Helping Consumers To Go To Work, According To Seneca Mayor

(Seneca, SC)——————–South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation in Seneca held a groundbreaking ceremony last Friday for their Training Center Expansion. The expansion will increase the square footage of their training facility as well as adding a new roof.

Among the speakers last Friday was Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander, who is employed by SC Vocational Rehab as well as State Senator Thomas Alexander, who was honored with a special recognition.

Mayor Alexander said the majority of the expansion is in the training center, which is set up similar to a manufacturing setting. This setup allows Vocational Rehab to fulfill various contracts that allow the consumers to experience different types of work environments which helps the consumers prepare to go to work. Funding for the project came from state and federal grants, according to Alexander.
