Fatal Crash Investigation in Anderson
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore announced that his office is investigating the death of 85-year-old Floyd Eugene Landers of Anderson, SC, who died from blunt chest trauma following a two-vehicle collision on Monday at approximately 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Sayre Street and South Murray Avenue. Anderson County 911 responded to the scene where first responders found Landers severely injured; he was treated on-site and transported to AnMed Health, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Preliminary findings indicate Landers was driving on South Murray Avenue when his vehicle was struck on the side by another car traveling on Sayre Street. The coroner ruled the manner of death accidental, noting that Landers was wearing a seatbelt at the time. The incident remains under investigation by the Anderson County Coroner’s Office and the Anderson Police Department.
