Finance And Administration Committee Of The Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority Holds Monday Night Meeting

(Seneca, SC)————–The Finance and Administration Committee of the Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority held a meeting yesterday in Westminster and some policy and action items were on the agenda that were approved. The Approved items will be sent to the Board of Commissioners for their consideration on April 29th at their next meeting at the Westminster Depot at 6pm. 

The big item on the agenda, according to Executive Director Chris Eleazer, was a presentation of the 2020 Fiscal Year Budget that begins on July 1st. Eleazer said that projected revenue and expenditures in the next fiscal year budget is around $5.5 million dollars, which included operating expenses, some capital project and some engineering studies. 

The committee approved the proposed budget, however, the Committee asked Eleazer to take a look at a couple of alternative budgets to present to the Board of Commissioners as well. 

The Committee also recommended to the Board a revised policy regarding drug and alcohol testing for CDL drivers that are employed by the Sewer Authority. 

The Committee also voted to recommended to the Board that the city of Westminster be refunded $70,592.83 for a miscalculation error dating back to January 2017 that was on their bill that was discovered for unmetered wastewater flows.
