Fire damages OC Law Enforcement Center

A fire was reported Saturday just after 5:30pm at the Oconee County Law Enforcement Center. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze and the cause is not known at this time. The fire damaged furniture and computers as well as the building itself. The price tag on the damage is estimated at $100,000, but Oconee County’s insurance adjuster will assess the damage sometime this week to make an exact determination. The Walhalla Fire Department and the State Law Enforcement Division are investigating the incident.
