Flood Watch issued for parts of SC in Severe Drought

Some of the driest areas of South Carolina, including the tri-county area of the Upstate, are under a flash flood watch. The National Weather Service has issued the watch for 12 counties in the northwest part of the state until Friday morning. Forecasters say slow moving thunderstorms will develop Thursday afternoon likely dumping an inch or more of rain, and some areas could see up to 5 inches of precipitation. Motorists are reminded to never cross rushing water over the roadway, rather turn around and don’t drown.
