Former Seneca City Councilman Elected To Fill Unexpired Term On City Council

(Seneca, SC )———————-Former Seneca City Councilman Stuart Pohl won a special City Council election yesterday. 83 citizens of Seneca voted and Pohl received 79 of those votes. 4 individuals received write-in votes and no provisional ballots were cast, according to Oconee County Voter Registration and Elections. Pohl will fill the unexpired term of Anthony Herman Smith, who resigned from City Council in December after accepting a job with the City of Seneca. 

Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander was a guest on the Coffee Time this morning and commented on Pohl’s return to City Council. 

Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander said on the Coffee Time program this morning that he is happy that Pohl is back on City Council and that Pohl was a “great councilman” the last time that Pohl served on City Council. Alexander says that Pohl brings business experience to Council and the Mayor says that Pohl is a great leader and a visionary and is a huge supporter of the Seneca Recreation Department and a strong advocate for the revitalization efforts in downtown Seneca. Alexander says that he is proud that Pohl wanted to run for Council and that he enjoyed his previous time in which he was a City Councilman.
