Future Seneca Middle School Property Finalized

District officials signed the paperwork and handed over the check to finalize the purchase of approximate 44 acres of land along Wells Highway for a new Seneca Middle School. The site is located approximately one mile from Seneca High School along Wells Highway and is in close proximity to all three elementary schools. The site, with a total cost of $1,784,400, consists of the following parcels with respective sellers:

Parcel 253-00-03-053 – Bonnie D Black ETAL
Parcel 252-00-03-002 – Bonnie D Black ETAL
Parcel 253-00-03-111 – Larry C Hendrix
Parcel 253-00-03-101 – William & Kathryn Stevenson

The purchase has been a long process but is “well worth the wait” according to Mr. Steve Hanvey, Associate Superintendent of Administration. Mr. Hanvey said, “We are glad to have this done and are looking forward to moving forward in the process.”
Dr. Thorsland said, “Like I said a few weeks ago, this is a huge step in what has been a long process. This is great news for our district. The employees at Seneca Middle School have patiently waited a long time for this; we are thrilled for them and for the future students that will attend.”
