Gamecocks fall to Gardner-Webb

South Carolina took a 6-4 lead into the top of the eighth inning but Gardner-Webb rallied with two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth with the tying and winning runs both scoring on Gamecock errors as the Bulldogs defeated South Carolina 7-6 on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at Keeter Stadium in Shelby, N.C. With the loss, South Carolina falls to 31-11 on the year. The Gamecocks are back in action this weekend with a three-game series at LSU in SEC play. First pitch for the opener on Friday is set for 8pm.
