Gas Prices Continue To Rise Across South Carolina; Prices Still Lower Than Last Year At This Time, According To AAA Carolinas

(Seneca, SC)——Gasoline prices are still on the increase across South Carolina but prices are still cheaper than this time last year.

AAA Carolinas is reporting that the average price for a gallon of gasoline in South Carolina is $2.48 a gallon, which is up seven cents on the week and 19 cents on the month.  However, the price is nine cents less than this time last year.

AAA Carolinas says that the increase in prices reflects increases in crude oil prices, robust demand and decreasing gasoline stocks.

The organizations says that even with the increases in price, South Carolina still remains one of the nation’s top 10 least expensive markets for gasoline.

The nationwide average for a gallon of gasoline is $2.79 a gallon, which is eight cents higher since the beginning of July.
