Gas Prices On The Rise Across The State of South Carolina; AAA Carolinas Explains Why

(Seneca, SC)—————————-As you may have noticed, gas prices are on the rise across the Golden Corner and the state of South Carolina. According to AAA Carolinas, the average price of gasoline in the state of South Carolina is $2.12 a gallon, which is 12 cents higher on the week and 15 cents more than this time last month. According to Tiffany Wright from AAA Carolinas, the reasons for the price increase have to do with increased oil and wholesale gasoline prices along with OPEC production cuts and refinery problems in the Northeast. Also, refineries are entering maintenance season and this is the time when refineries prepare to switch over to a summer-blend of gasoline. Wright expects gasoline supplies to continue to tighten and that should keep gas prices high through the end of the month.
