(Seneca, SC)—————————–Gas prices have risen in the state of South Carolina for the fifth straight week, however, compared with the same time last year, prices are still cheaper, that is according to AAA Carolinas. The organization reports that the average price for a gallon of gasoline in the Palmetto State is $2.24 a gallon, which is up eight cents on the week and 25 cents on the year.

According to a release from AAA Carolinas, they report that gasoline stocks have gradually decreased while demand has increased and crude oil prices have also been fluctuating.
