Get Crafty at the Library

The Oconee County Public Library is more than just books. It offers a wide range of materials and programs. If you are new to crafting or are an old pro, they have something for everyone.  Even better, crafts are offered at no cost.  The Salem Branch Library hosts Knit & Crochet Circle meetings. These are on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 2pm. In April, that is the 10th and the 24th, and in May, that is the 8th and the 22nd. Knitters and crocheters can bring their work in progress and join in the stitching and conversation. Beginners are welcome, too. The Westminster Branch Library hosts Craft-It with Leah once a month. On Monday, April 22, crafters will make custom magnet boards. You will also learn how to and make magnets out of repurposed materials such as brooches, pins, buttons, and much more. Bring your own knickknacks and get creative. We all have old picture frames we are not using that are just collecting dust. On Monday, May 6, crafters will give old frames new life as a dry erase message center.  These make great Mother’s Day gifts. Both Craft-It programs start at 6:30pm. All supplies will be provided. Please call (864) 647-3215, sign up at the Westminster Branch, or email Leah at [email protected] to register so we will have enough supplies. No registration is required for the Knit & Crochet Circle meetings. For more information about all the programs at the OCPL, visit www.oconee.lib.sc.us.
