Getting Ready for Rally in the Valley 2018

Organizers are gearing up for Oconee Forever’s Seventh Annual Rally in the Valley on Saturday, May 19, at Lake Jemiki off Highway 28 in Walhalla. Not only will there be 30-mile and 60-mile bicycle rides through the rolling countryside, but the whole family can enjoy slow-cooked barbecue, local craft beer and Americana music. Rally in the Valley is Oconee Forever’s annual event to raise awareness for natural resources. This year the proceeds will be used to help fund the Stumphouse Tunnel bike park. Cyclists’ registration fee including food and drink: Cyclists’ registration before April 21 is $40. From April 21 through May 17, cyclists’ registration is $50. On the day of the event, cyclists’ registration is $60. Children under 6 are free and children 6 to 12 are half-price. New this year is a $5 discount per person for groups of 6 or more cyclists who register before May 4. Cyclists who register before May 4, are guaranteed a t-shirt. Online registrants are eligible for the door prizes. General admission for music, food and drink: $25 through May 17, and $30 on the day of the event. Children under 6 are free and children 6 to 12 are half-price. Event-day cycling registration will begin at 7am with the 60-mile ride to begin at 8am and the 30-mile ride beginning at 9am. The festival portion, including barbecue, home made sides, music and craft beer, begins around 11:30am.
