Gold Passes available to Seniors in SDOC

Athletics are off to a great start this fall in the School District of Oconee County (SDOC). It is not expensive to see the games and it’s free for seniors with a Gold Pass, tells Associate Superintendent of Administration Steve Hanvey. “Those folks who are 65 and older, if they want to come get a Gold Pass at the district office that allows them to get into our events free we would love to see them. They can come to the district office and bring their driver’s license, ask for Mrs. Gibson and we will get them their Gold Pass. We’ve had probably 250-300 people in the last month and half come up and take advantage of that.” The Gold Pass is not valid for playoff games or tournament games, but any regular season game where the money stays in Oconee County it is accepted. This is a lifetime membership pass for seniors in Oconee County. To receive a Gold Pass, go by the SDOC offices on South Pine Street in Walhalla.
