Golden Corner Ladies compete for Miss Oktoberfest

Sixteen young ladies will compete in the annual Miss Oktoberfest Pageant this Saturday, September 21, at 7pm at Walhalla High School.  The contestants, who are all Oconee County high school students, will compete in interview, casual and formal wear competitions.  The mistress of ceremonies for the evening is Clarka Wickliffe, who will also provide entertainment along with Brooklyn Garrett.  Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. Ashley Carroll, Miss Oktoberfest 2012, will be relinquishing her title to the new winner who will reign over the 35th annual Oktoberfest in Walhalla October 18-20.  Miss Oktoberfest 2013 will receive a $500 scholarship and, in addition, Miss Freshman, Miss Sophomore, Miss Junior, and Miss Senior Oktoberfest Attendants will be named. Miss Oktoberfest is produced and directed by Greg Bearden and Eddie Payne of Golden Corner Pageants, LLC. In addition, this Saturday, a Little Miss Oktoberfest competition will be held at 1pm at Walhalla High School for young ladies ages birth through 8th grade.
