GOP Candidates Make Pitches Leading Up to Primaries
Republican candidates for federal, state, and local offices gathered at South Cove County Park over the weekend to seek support ahead of Election Day. The event, hosted by the Oconee County Republican Party and affiliated groups, featured speakers addressing around 200 attendees. Sheri Biggs emphasized healing the nation, while Kevin Bishop highlighted his experience and support for former President Trump. Franky Franco focused on faith and serving the community, and Phil Healy stressed his military background and budget concerns. State Rep. Stewart Jones advocated for grassroots change, and Elspeth Murday called for new approaches in Congress. Other candidates, including State Rep. Bill Sandifer and several solicitor and county council hopefuls, also spoke about their platforms.
