Graham joins Reid to Vote for National ID

Yesterday, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) voted with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to block Sen. Rand Paul’s amendment to S. 744, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill. Senator Paul’s “Trust but Verify Act of 2013” contained language preventing the federal government from establishing a National ID card and creating a database with “biometric” information on every American. “We cannot become a ‘papers please’ society,” said C4L President John Tate. “The fact that Senator Graham stood with Leader Reid to support a National ID system, complete with a database containing the picture and other biometric information of US citizens should cause all South Carolinians to seriously question his conservative credentials.” Campaign for Liberty will continue to fight any attempt by Senator Graham and Senate Majority Leader Reid to force a National ID on Americans.
